This post is related to COVID-19. If that’s not a great topic for you right now, click right on outta here.
Melissa Healy wrote a really interesting article about the efforts of three doctors and an army of volunteers to use convalescent serum or plasma to save lives in the fight against COVID-19. I’ve read about some similar efforts, including the possibility of rolling out the oral polio vaccine.
I’m trying unsuccessfully to not read every article I see about the pandemic, but I’m glad I saw this article. It conveys some optimism, teamwork, and problem solving.
I subscribe to the LA Times. I apologize if the article is behind a pay wall.
Nice to read something optimistic.

Oh how we love a good hero’s journey! Exciting stuff. Crazy that I haven’t heard of this at all. Better start getting the iron levels up in preparation for donating blood!

That’s an interesting point. We haven’t heard of it. I think that’s one of the things I loved about it without realizing it – these are not fame seekers. They came together trying to solve a problem.
